I am so grateful for this wonderful country. It is because of the bravery of so many that I have the opportunities to worship as I wish and to be a woman in graduate school. So many people are oppressed by their governments right now, and I wish they could all experience the freedoms that me and my family enjoy.
I love this holiday because it not only is the birthday of my favorite country, but it is also about families and BBQs.
We spent the morning weeding in the backyard. We all saved flowers, vegetables and herbs from the ravages of the weeds we don’t want.
We were all together in the morning, but Kayleigh had to work in the afternoon. So she could not go to the Dahl family BBQ held at the swimming pool at the home of my mother-in-law’s twin sister.
I was able to snap a few pictures of Mom Dahl (my mother-in-law). There are too few pictures of her.
I spent quite a while chatting with Dad Dahl. I so enjoy the time we talk. He is a very good man. Ben caught these really funny pictures of him where he must have been a little grossed out at something a grandchild did in the pool.
I snapped a lot of pictures, including this one of Ray flying through the air after jumping off the diving board. He is truly a super man.
Ben and Liz had a good time hanging out, eating, and swimming.
I took some really fun pictures, in fact I shot and shot for several hours.
