1500 Practicing Polygamists Protesting in downtown Salt Lake City
Yesterday, we drove past the federal courthouse in downtown Salt Lake City when we were going to work. We saw a grundle of (about 1500) Fundamental LDS folks “silently protesting” outside the courthouse. They had come from all over the country to protest the sale of their former land to pay back members of their [...]
My very first memory…
Today is the 40th anniversary of the first men on the Moon. What an exciting time that was on July 20, 1969 and that is the first memory I have: I was 2 years old and standing in front of the TV while I marveled over the astronauts walking on the Moon.
Vitamin D does help with Fatigue & Cognition
A few weeks ago, I reported that my vitamin D levels were found to be very low. This was the root cause of years of problems with fatigue and other problems. I took a large dose of prescription vitamin D for 3 weeks and I then started taking 1000 IU of vitamin D every day [...]
Oscar got Wet
Ben came up to my home office with Oscar complaining in his arms. Apparently, Oscar had fallen in the canal behind our house. The canal with lots of water… yes cat completely submerged in water. Ben had him wrapped in a towel while he was trying to dry off Oscar.

Saturday, our Jetta started overheating when Kayleigh was driving it. She was so afraid that she would be in trouble that she did not tell us about it. She just dropped the car off after her Bass lesson and took off to a friends. Ray discovered the problem when he started it up to go [...]
14 years ago today… Liz arrived
Fourteen years ago today, Erin Elizabeth was born into our family. That was my most adventurous delivery and my last. It didn’t go very well, but she came out just fine.
Ben is a really good teacher
My son Ben helped me out today by teaching an introduction on the software Blender. Blender creates 3D models and animations, and it is very complex.
Blasted CD is Cracked Up!
I have been trying to move some files over to my computer so I can use them in my attempt to better learn the Blender 3D Animation and Modeling suite. But my computer kept trying to read the disk over and over. I rebooted. I tried to copy files, but some “could not be read.” [...]
Hauling Heavy Cameras up a Steep Path
Ray, Ben, Liz and I went on a short but very steep hike. It is a trail that lies 8 miles up Little Cottonwood Canyon, east of Salt Lake City, Utah. The trail starts in a sub-canyon called Butler’s Fork.
My Country’s Birthday and a BBQ
I am so grateful for this wonderful country. It is because of the bravery of so many that I have the opportunities to worship as I wish and to be a woman in graduate school. So many people are oppressed by their governments right now, and I wish they could all experience the freedoms that [...]
