Super Mom? Nope.

Super Mom

I am not a super mom and I never will become a super mom.  This semester has been quite difficult for me because I finally hit a wall: I did too much and did not do as well as I wanted.  But I did learn a lot about a few things.

Thank heavens this was my last semester of full-time school and trying to write.  You see, I work full-time and full-time school just doesn’t work well that way.

My first clue was when I did not prepare the correct topic for my colloquium.  Then when one professor was grading my last cognition test he asked, “What happened?”  Blah!  My cognitive skills have been horrible because I have been so stressed.  It has been frustrating.

But I did decide to let my grades slip a little in lieu of spending more time with my family.  My family is the reason I spend so much time working.

So on this Mother’s Day as I reflect on the past semester and the stress that it caused me, I can say that my relationship with my kids has grown and I have an idea of what they are doing and how well they are doing.  I am happy with everything I do, and I have learned a lot about my limits and my capabilities.  But I know for sure that there is no such thing as a super mom who can be successful at everything.  One woman cannot do it all.
