A raccoon in my kitchen

My cute kitty, Katie, came running upstairs tonight rather freaked out.  She would not stop looking around upstairs for something, and she did not want me to hold her. I could tell she wanted to pounce on something that scared her. But I held her and started combing her fur with the furminator because she needs a good steel comb to get out caught fur (as does Oscar).

Katie did not enjoy this rubdown this time because I think she was nervous and wanting to do something about the thing she saw.

I assumed it was the feral siamese cat that sometimes comes into our house to steal the cats’ food.

But soon I had a feeling to go down and start another laundry load.  I gathered the medium colors from my dirty laundry and walked down with the basket.  As soon as I walked into the kitchen, I saw a rather big critter at the cats’ food bowls.  It quickly turned away before I could really see what it was.  I then recognize the receding tail as a raccoon tail that was quickly going through the nearby cat door  This can’t be the first time it has come into the house because it knew right where to go for food and how to get out.

Soon, Katie the kitty came downstairs and tentatively looked around her food space and her cat door.  I had just cleaned out their food and water bowls.  Then Ray locked the cat door.  I hope we don’t have that problem, again.  ha ha.

If you’re like us, as long as there is cat food and a cat (racoon) door, you’ll have them in your house. Art got up one night to find two feral cats and a raccoon in our kitchen.
