Today in church we were talking about the importance of staying true to our covenants and sticking to our values. It is in this manner that we find peace in our lives and keep the Holy Ghost with us.
You might say that by living our values, we follow our conscience and maintain peace in our hearts. If we do not hearken to our conscience and live our values, then we push away our conscience and stop listening. Our scriptures tell us that this is pushing away the Spirit (D&C 1:33). We must continue to maintain our values and keep our promises with the Lord so the Spirit does not withdraw and we can continue to have inner peace (Moses 6:57).
