New Mormon Studies Fellowship at the University of Utah
I am so very excited because I just discovered that the University of Utah will be sponsoring two Mormon Studies fellowships for the next 2 years. According to the Deseret News: Reflecting something of a softening in the University of Utah’s decades-long reputation for eschewing academic study associated with Mormonism, the U. is offering a [...]
Misunderestimated
Oh woe is me… I have been “misunderestimated.” Bush used this made up word in his last presidential press conference today. What does that actually mean? I think my “most beloved US President” (not) actually meant that the Press underestimated Bush and his presidency. The BBC reports on this misnomer and others. To me, “mis” [...]
Cold Weather Damages String Instruments

Silly Snowmen and My Kids
My kids have really enjoyed our snow and built a snowman or two in our front yard. It is so nice to see the kids goofing off and enjoying each other’s company and friendship. As they grow, I see them becoming better and better friends. Here’s Kayleigh, Ben, and Liz with their snowman.
Fixed Glasses
Ray and I went to Lenscrafters today so I could get my glasses fixed. I had lived with cracked glasses for far too long, and it was just unacceptable when working on the computer or anything else! So we went in and there was consternation and dismay from the employee. She took my glasses back [...]
