I am preparing my Moodle site for the for-credit course I am teaching Fall semester. Among many reasons for using Moodle over WebCT is that it supports Second Life integration. I have been rather confused about how to set it up. I have been especially confused about how to set up Sloodle 0.3 because the setup is so different, and none of the online how-to videos showed how to use the new interface.
Well, last night I decided to go to the Second Life Sloodle area in VirtualALBA. The how-to video for 0.3 finally loaded and I saw how to complete the interaction of the Sloodle Second Life object and my Moodle site. I also found the same video on blip.tv:
A text document with the same information can be found on the Sloodle.org site.
Also, now that Sloodle 0.3 is no longer in beta, it is working properly with my own Moodle. Whew!
Now I just need to test the interface and make sure everything works properly. I might also test to see if the Sloodle quiz chair works so I could let my students take quizzes within Second Life if they don’t want to log into Moodle. Hmmm…..

How have you liked Moodle so far? I’ve got a couple of courses planned out and installed Moodle, but haven’t experimented further.
I have used Moodle for almost 4 years. I looooove it. The educational theories used when Martin first made Moodle, were what made Moodle so successful. Being a free, open-source PHP/MySQL resource has almost made it so successful.
My doctoral research uses the theories of Ausubel in that advance organizers are important methods in bringing in existing knowledge and organizing ideas that are to be learned. The Moodle interface is one big advance organizer. Oh, I love it!
