Wow! You Get What you Ask For
So I have been wanting to get into a Ph.D. program for years now. Now I am in, and I have been working so hard these first two weeks of official classwork. I am taking 10 credit hours. Nine credit hours is full time for a graduate student. This is quite a load for me as a mom and a full-time worker. I spend every possible free moment at home working on school work. Thanks to Ray for cooking and helping the kids so much.
I was quite nervous about the Qualitative Methods I class because it is heavy duty statistics. I have heard for several years that this specific class is REALLY difficult and the test are even more so. As a result, I had high anxiety about this class.
Yep. When I was working on my first stats homework assignment, this anxiety blocked my ability to figure out how to do it. But Jill, in my cohort, picked up the answers from the TAs. I have to show all my work, but the bare answers helped me to find the “correct” probability methods for each problem. I say “correct” because I have not turned in and received a grade back. I turn in that assignment on Tuesday morning.
But, I was really stressed out last week. That really sucked because I hate that feeling. But a coworker sent me the following cartoon that is oh, so true. It helped.
I love Blue Bunny homemade chocolate ice cream and Milky Way chocolate bars.
Memory? Who’s Got the Memory?!
I am also taking a Human Memory course that is definitely a high-end, doctoral level course. I have a 30 page paper due at the end of the semester and tons of reading to do in the textbook and with very complex memory theory articles.
My First Academic Conference?
Robert has asked that I work to have my first research project and paper ready to submit for consideration for the SITE conference.
